"Greetings in the name of our Lord!
It is hard to believe that Christmas is only a few days away! I continue to be excited and proud of the way that our church family is committed to sharing with each other and the community to ensure that this holiday season brings joy to those inside and outside of our church. To that end I want to give a special thanks to all who contributed to our Christmas gift cards. Because of your generosity, we were able to spread the Love of Christ to four families in need this season. If I have learning anything as a new pastor it is that People's Community Church is a fellowship of caring believers who are overflowing with God's Love.
Although I do not usually use this platform to make announcements, I wanted to be sure that I made some things clear about the holiday schedule this year. An incalculable amount time and effort has been put into the celebration of Pastor, McCreary's outstanding legacy of service to this church, the wonderful welcoming and installation service that you all provided for me, yesterday's Christmas program and the myriad of service events which have all taken place this fall and early winter. Considering all of these things, we will not be in service this year for either Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve. My hope is that you will all enjoy time with loved ones and rest as we prepare spiritually, mentally and physically for a blessed 2019.
This week we will continue our discussion on the Christmas story. As you prepare your hearts, I ask that you challenge yourself to answer the following question. What will you bring to Jesus? In all of your going and coming to gatherings and events. In all of your planning make sure that you have the perfect gift for everyone. Be sure that you have prepared a gift for when you encounter the Master!
