Greetings in the name of our Lord!
I write this week's letter recognizing the fact that the temperature is about 40 degrees cooler than it was twelve hours ago. Time is filled with swift transitions. As we are experiencing weather and life that have a constant range of highs and lows, I am reminded of the peace and strength that comes from serving a God who is unchanging. From day to day you may not know whether you will need heat or air conditioning. Some moments bring you to tears on the heels of great joy. One thing is for sure. Our Lord is the same yesterday, today and forever. I ask that you agree with me in faith that no matter what life brings, we will trust in the Lord!
I have noticed lately that the prayer list has been growing exponentially. Our need to constantly seek God for his grace and mercy in every situation has never been more real. Whether you are able to participate directly in the ministries that petition God on behalf of those in need or not, I ask that we, as a church commit ourselves to daily prayer. Pray first for your personal relationship with Him. Pray also for Him to cover your household and family with His grace. Pray for your Pastor and our church with specific attention to those on the prayer list. Then pray for our communities, our nation and our world. The word of God teaches us that when we humble ourselves, pray, seek God's face and turn from wickedness, God will hear us and respond!
This week we will also continue in our series focused on the life of a believer as we ask the question, "What is the right way to worship?" I hope that each of us is blessed by this word and inspired to a closer personal relationship with our Lord!
I love you, aint a thang you can do about it!
