Pastor's Letter March 3, 2019

By CJ Harkness
God is great and greatly to be praised. As we move towards the Lenten season, I encourage each of you to take time each day to thank God for all of his greatness. This week, in particular, I ask that we each concentrate on the greatness that He has displayed throughout his creation. When I see the mountains, valleys the oceans and even the stars at night, I am overwhelmed and in awe of God's greatness. If God can make all of this out of nothing, He is surely able to supply my every need.

I also look forward to seeing all PCC members this Wednesday night at 7:00 pm for our Ash Wednesday service.

Greetings in the Name of our Lord!

Christ faced temptation in the wilderness (Matt 4) in His work which conquered sin and death for us.  Let us prepare to enter into a sacrificial period in which we, by the power of the Holy Spirit, seek to conquer temptations in our lives as we draw closer to the Master.

On Wednesday our service will allow us to seek God's anointing and strength as we commit this forty-day period to Him.  Time and time again in my life I have found that there is nothing that can produce more peace, healing and deliverance than a focused period of prayer and fasting.  I am asking each member to consider joining me in faith and practice and committing to a fast during the Lenten season.  Some may engage in a sacrifice of food while others may disengage from entertainment or social media.  I ask that you seek God's wisdom in letting go of something that makes room for greater conversation and communion with God.

Finally, I ask that we enter into a period of sacrificial prayer.  To that end, I ask that every member also join us in prayer throughout the season but specifically on Wednesday's at noon.  I will establish a call-in line for those who are able to join and that information will be distributed at Ash Wednesday service.  If you are not able to join the call I am asking that you pause wherever you are and join us in prayer for our personal walk with Christ, the vision and direction of our church and God's will on this Earth.

I love you all and it aint a thang you can do about it!

Your Pastor,

 CJ
